Targeting the emerging display industry, this research area employs in-situ techniques such as synchrotron radiation and solid-state NMR, along with machine learning methods, to develop optical films, release films, and adhesives such as OCA and PSA. Working in collaboration with enterprises along the new display industry chain, it addresses key challenges in optical adhesives and film products.
Research topics include:
1. Polarizer optical films such as PAV optical films, support films, and phase retardation films.
2. Thin films such as micro–nano multilayer films, depolarizing films, and release films.
3. Coating and processing of optical films with functions such as anti-reflection (AR), hard coating, and privacy protection.
4. Flexible circuit films with low dielectric delay and thermal management films for chip cards.
