Targeting the low-carbon and sustainable development needs of packaging, agriculture, construction, and health industries, this research area develops biodegradable, single-material high-strength, and biocompatible polymer films. To address the bottleneck of low mechanical performance in chemically depolymerizable polymers, novel film processing technologies are developed to enhance the performance of polymers that can be easily chemically recycled, resolving the conflict between “high-value recyclability” and “high performance.”
Research topics include:
1. Biologically or chemically degradable transparent and tough packaging films and mulch films.
2. High-strength, high-barrier single-material films.
3. Tough and biocompatible microporous films and hydrogels.
4. Strong cross-linked films for construction and packaging materials.
