On the morning of July 28, Liang Long, Deputy General Manager of Wuhu Huishi New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., and Li Chunhui, a company director, led a delegation on a visit to the Anhui Engineering Center for Advanced Functional Polymer Films for technical exchanges and discussions on potential cooperation. Dr. Chen Jungen of the Engineering Center warmly received the delegation and accompanied them on a tour of the Center.
During the exchange, Dr. Chen Jungen provided the visitors with a detailed introduction to the Engineering Center, including its development history, research areas, and major scientific achievements in recent years. Leveraging a large-scale synchrotron radiation facility, the Center conducts original and innovative research on key functional film materials used in the upstream segment of the industrial chain. It has established an Innovation Team for “Optical Films for New Displays” in a key field designated by the Ministry of Science and Technology and has jointly established university–enterprise laboratories with Wanwei Group, Lucky Group, and other companies. Focusing on optical films for new displays, lithium-ion battery separators, functional films for new energy applications, and related fields, the Center is committed to integrating the “innovation chain–industrial chain–value chain” of functional film materials and addressing bottlenecks in the supply of critical upstream materials.
The delegation led by Deputy General Manager Liang Long subsequently toured the Engineering Center’s structural and performance testing platform as well as its laboratory-scale and pilot-scale processing platform. The structural and performance testing platform is capable of conducting multidimensional analyses and tests ranging from molecular structure characterization to mechanical, thermal, optical, and electrical performance evaluation. Its specialized equipment includes a Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer, an X-ray diffractometer, a rotational rheometer, a universal testing machine, and a water vapor transmission rate tester. The laboratory-scale and pilot-scale processing platform is equipped with a full range of film-processing equipment, including a three-layer blown-film machine, a wet-process casting machine, a biaxial stretching testing machine, and a multifunctional roll-to-roll pilot coating line. During the tour, the two sides held in-depth discussions on technical details throughout the entire polymer-film production process, from raw-material synthesis and precision processing to performance testing.
Following the tour, Deputy General Manager Liang Long and his delegation held a meeting with Researcher Li Liangbin. The two sides engaged in constructive discussions on potential areas of cooperation and future development in fields such as optical films for new displays and functional films for new energy applications. Wuhu Huishi New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise specializing in new materials for industrial functional coatings and has been recognized as one of Anhui Province’s specialized, sophisticated, distinctive, and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. This exchange laid a solid foundation for future industry–university–research cooperation between the two sides in the field of functional film materials.
