To deepen industry-academia-research collaboration and empower the green and high-end development of the tobacco industry, on August 26, a delegation of leaders and key technical personnel from the Technical Center of China Tobacco Anhui visited the Institute for Carbon Neutrality for an exchange visit. Focusing on core areas such as film processing technology and green environmental applications, the two sides engaged in face-to-face discussions on industry needs and explored pathways for innovation.
Accompanied and guided by members of the Engineering Center team, the delegation from the Technical Center of China Tobacco Anhui visited the Anhui Provincial Engineering Research Center for Advanced Functional Polymer Films. They toured the research laboratories and technology exhibition area, gaining a detailed understanding of the Engineering Center’s technological expertise, research achievements, and innovative R&D system in functional polymer film materials, process optimization, and industrial applications. They also observed firsthand the preparation processes and performance testing procedures for various functional films.

During the visit, the Technical Center of China Tobacco Anhui team engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues including material upgrades, performance optimization, and forming processes for cigarette packaging films, as well as processing technologies, adaptability improvements, and application scenarios for films specifically used in tobacco cultivation. At the same time, the two sides focused on the current trend toward green and low-carbon development in the tobacco industry and exchanged views on the environmentally friendly modification of film products, the application of biodegradable technologies, and green manufacturing, sharing experiences in scientific research and industrial practice.
This exchange established a bridge for industry-academia-research collaboration between the tobacco industry and the field of polymer film technology, further clarifying directions for optimizing and upgrading functional film technologies in tobacco packaging and cultivation applications, and laying a solid foundation for subsequent technological breakthroughs, technology transfer, and collaborative innovation. In the future, the Institute for Carbon Neutrality and the Anhui Provincial Engineering Research Center for Advanced Functional Polymer Films will continue to leverage their strengths in technological R&D, focus on the industry’s needs for green and low-carbon development, accelerate industry-academia-research cooperation with high-quality enterprises such as China Tobacco Anhui, and continuously advance technological innovation and industrial implementation of functional and environmentally friendly film materials, thereby empowering the transformation and upgrading of the tobacco industry and promoting its green and high-quality development through scientific and technological innovation.
