On September 15, Ye Ke, Assistant to the General Manager of Shanjin Optoelectronics, Hong Jingqi, Chief Technology Officer, together with Liu Donghuan, Liu Jihe, and other heads of technical departments, visited the Anhui Provincial Engineering Research Center for Advanced Functional Polymer Films for technical exchanges and discussions on potential collaboration. Dr. J ungen Chen from the Engineering Research Center received the delegation and accompanied them on a tour.
During the visit, Ye Ke, Hong Jingqi, and their delegation first toured the laboratories as well as the bench-scale and pilot-scale platforms of the Engineering Research Center. They gained a detailed understanding of the Center's research facilities and technical capabilities in polymer film material design, structural and performance characterization, and film processing. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on polymer material synthesis, film-forming and processing technologies, structure–property characterization, and optical property regulation.
A discussion meeting was subsequently held. During the meeting, Researcher Liangbin Li introduced the development history, research directions, research platform construction, and industry–academia–research collaboration of the Engineering Research Center. Relying on large-scale synchrotron radiation facilities, the Center has long been engaged in research on the structure–processing–property relationships of polymer film materials, with a particular focus on optical films for advanced displays and functional films for new energy applications. Its research encompasses the design, processing, and application of key functional materials, integrating fundamental research with technological development while continuously promoting the translation of research achievements into industrial applications.
During the discussion, the two sides focused on optical films, optical adhesives, and other materials for advanced display applications, exchanging views on key technical issues involving material design, optical property regulation, processing technologies, and industrial applications. Building on the Engineering Research Center's research strengths in polymer material design, advanced structural characterization, and film processing, together with Shanjin Optoelectronics' industrial expertise in the research, development, production, and application of display optical materials, the two sides explored opportunities to further strengthen technical exchanges and advance related research collaboration.
The visit further deepened mutual understanding between the two sides in the field of optical materials for advanced displays and laid a solid foundation for future industry–academia–research collaboration on key materials such as optical films and optical adhesives. The Engineering Research Center will continue to uphold its mission of “Leading Innovation in the Polymer Film Industry through Fundamental Research,” respond to the needs of strategic emerging industries such as advanced displays, strengthen exchanges and collaboration with industry partners, and promote deeper integration among fundamental research, technological innovation, and industrial demand, thereby providing technical support for the development of China's high-end functional film materials industry.
