On October 14, 2026, the award ceremony for the 20th Feng Xinde Polymer Award was held in Kaifeng, Henan Province, China. As an important event of the 2026 National Symposium on Polymer Materials Science and Engineering, the ceremony brought together numerous experts and scholars in polymer science and materials from across China. A research paper for which Professor Liangbin Li of the Engineering Center and Tingyu Xu served as co-corresponding authors was selected from this year's submissions and received the Best Paper Nomination Award of the 20th Feng Xinde Polymer Award.

The 20th Feng Xinde Polymer Award Ceremony

The Feng Xinde Polymer Award was established in 2006 with sponsorship from Elsevier in memory of Feng Xinde, a renowned Chinese chemist and educator and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The award aims to recognize authors of outstanding papers published annually in the journal POLYMER by researchers from China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan. It has become an influential academic award in the fields of polymer science and materials.

The selection committee for this edition was composed of Chinese editors of POLYMER and members of the journal's editorial board. Following a rigorous evaluation, the committee selected 2 papers for the Best Paper Award and 33 papers for the Best Paper Nomination Award from a total of 712 submissions received this year. The paper for which Professor Liangbin Li and Tingyu Xu served as co-corresponding authors was selected for the Best Paper Nomination Award. According to the award regulations, recipients of the Best Paper Nomination Award are presented with a medal and certificate bearing the title of the award.

The paper receiving the Best Paper Nomination Award is entitled Entropy-driven preordering assists nucleation in polyethylene and was published in POLYMER. The study was conducted by a collaborative research team, with Professor Liangbin Li and Tingyu Xu serving as co-corresponding authors.
