Research and sports go hand in hand, collaboration and friendship last forever

 On May 13, 2018, the 60th Anniversary Celebration Sports Carnival organized by the Youth League Committee and the Graduate Students' Association of China University of Technology was successfully held in the Eastern District Sports Field. The Soft Matter Intelligent Manufacturing Group of USTC Task Force team participated in the classic event of the Carnival - Tug of war and tied for third place.  

 Adhering to the principle of "requiring healthier sesides scientific research, requiring friendship besides prizes", the soft material intelligent manufacturing team actively organizes the members of the group to participate in the competition. The team selects a total of 17 members (including substitutes) who have Dr. Chen Xiaowei as the captain. In order to ensure that all members of the group can participate in the event, the remaining members of the group also participate in the competition as logistic members.

 A total of 16 teams participated in the competition, and divided into four groups. The competition system was a three-in-two elimination system. The soft material group was divided into the strongest D group.

  Tactical drills before the game

 The game officially opened at 4:00 PM. Because of space restrictions, the four teams in Group D were divided into two games. As a team that came out after playing, the soft material team under the leadership of team leader Chen Xiaowei actively arranged the formation and tactics, and strive to achieve good results. As the tactical drills before the game are more familiar, the players perform better in the game and the team sings into the semi-finals. The opponents in the semi-finals are a group of undergraduate students who have passed through the field. They are led by the head teacher, which had participated in three consecutive games and won championships once. Although the soft material team was not afraid of the difficulties and worked hard, it was still defeated by the  opponent's powerful strength. Unfortunately, he took third place. The members of the soft material team, who have long been known for their knowledge and generosity, have not regretted losing to their opponents. Instead, they cheered for their opponents in the finals and applauded them when they won the championship.
